Anyone know why Aristo-Craft no longer sells radios? What ever happen to the company?

I believe it was absorbed by Gold Star many moons ago. Gold Star is/was the parent company of Hitec. Some of the last Aristo-Craft R/C systems were made by Hitec.

This would be a good question for Mike Mayberry, the Hitec rep.

I was under the impression Aristocraft became Hitec. I know some of my older Aristocraft servos shared the same model number etc with some early Hitecs.

Hitech may have bought the radio division from Aristo-Craft. But I think the company still exists, but only makes model train accessory's. Not sure though.

Aristocraft is owned by Polk Hobbies.

They have pretty much gone out of the air r/c biz but do a lot of model trains.

Hitec used to manufacture Aristocraft products for them and I believe that some of the designs that are made by Hitec were engineered by Aristocraft employees.

By scanning radio, do you mean a reciever and transmitter that automatically scan for a free channel? Or just a frequency monitoring device/

The last radio that was made was the "Tracker" and it required a cabel between the Trans and the receiver. Lewis Polk indicated that the new Trans would have a "receiver" built in for scaning and the "Receiver" would be like the "Tracer" and go to the channel selected by the Transmitter. I thought it would be a neet idea.

I was unable to find a link on the web site. It must be premature, and we will just have to wait. I sent a Email requesting information !

The given link is incorrect. You need to visit: www.polkshobby.com

The Tracker II system is easy to find once you get there.

Default Tracker II update

I was on the phone with Mr. Lewis Polk himself on Friday. They just started shipping the Tracker II system orders in rotation, and he will be calling me back on Monday with an ETA for my system. Since my order was placed back in October, it will probably be early in the shipping rotation.

I have aquired quite a bit of information on this system before placing my order, and have posted most of it in a previous discussion. Here is a link to that thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...426&forumid=27]

Dennis,

I would like to hear how you make out. I have wanted one of these for years. I hope they got all the bugs out.

The seeker receivers work flawlessly.

It should be interesting - I am planning to put it into a plane filled with firsts (for me anyhow).

- converted WeedEater® gas motor (25 cc)
- homemade mousse-can-muffler
- 8 foot Coroplast wing with barndoor ailerons and flaps
- GWS servos (100 foot-pounds torque at 4.8 volt)
- homemade fuel tank (can't get commercial tanks to fit)
- Polk's Tracker II Tx & Seeker Rx

The only items bought at LHS are prop, tygon fuel tubing, and epoxy. Radio and servos were ordered via the web. Everything else was bought from my other LHS (Local Hardware Store)

There have been a couple delays for the system, due to the battery manufacturer putting the wrong ends on, and they are updating the software. The last ETA Mr. Polk gave me was early to mid March. They will ship them in the order the orders were received. Mine will be one of the first, since I placed my order in October.

It's odd they haven't responded to your emails, they always reply to mine. What address are you using? Try [email protected] and mention your order # in the subject heading. If that fails, I have also spoken with them by calling 1-973-351-9800. They can't ignore a phone call as easily as an email.

Also, I am in communication with a couple owners of the new Seeker II receiver, and they are quite pleased with them. They are using them with Hitec's Eclipse radio and synthesizer module with no problems.

So, has anyone recieved a Tracker II radio yet????

I have been following this thread for a couple of weeks now and I still don't see anyone saying they have their hands on a Tracker II yet.

I haven't seen a post by anyone that has actually received anything yet.

Please post a message when/if you receive a Tracker II.

Like I said, the most recent shipping ETA I was given is early to mid March. As for the Seeker II receiver, I know of at least one person who has received it (on Jan 27th). On RCU his user name is Kevin Brice, and he has agreed to answer questions regarding his experience with it (although he hasn't had flying weather yet). He has tested it with his Hitec Eclipse w/ Spectra module. He even posted the updated programming instructions here, but I can't find them right now...

Default Tracker II ETA

For everyone itching for news on the Tracker II radio, the latest news is:
quoted from email from Mr. Polk (the owner)
The radios have arrived in the U.S. and now it's in the clearing process. We can only hope that this will finish this week.
I will be posting an update as soon as I receive mine.
