Default Old transmitters, need idea of value

I have two old transmitters from the 50's or 60's I think. One is a Citizens proportion model DPT, 3 channel w/ servos and receiver. The other is a M.A.N. 2 3 4 four chanel( 27.05mc) several servos and a receiver. I think this was made by world engines....I met a gentleman who deals with old transmitters at a swap meet and he wants to buy them from me. The problem is , I have no clue as to the value of them. Can anyone help me out? I am meeting him next Sunday, 13th, at the Mid Michigan swap meet in Owosso Mi....Thanks in advance.... Jim

It's hard to determine the right price. It could be from $10 to $200. The only way I know how to determine the price is to put them on eBay. I believe the Citizen Ship will bring more than the 2-3-4. I have both of these units.

The price is what the guy is willing to pay - ask him.

Don't send 'em to me! I figure by the time I realize my old transmitters are worth nothing, somebody will declare them "Hazardous Material", and I'll have to PAY to get rid of them!

Good luck,
Dave Olson

I expect there is something in there that the state of California has labeled hazardous to your health

On eBay those systems sell for $90 to $400, depending on what it is and who is buying it. There are a couple of traders there that have driven the prices sky high (beyond $1K for some systems!). To a local friend, that will take care of them, the price depends on how generous you want to be. So, price it to suit what is best for the two of you.

BTW, If the DPT-3 is in very good shape and complete, I would be interested in it if the other fellow does not want it. I have a display collection of vintage gear and the DPT would be a nice piece to add to it. I am most interested in finding a Sampey system - anyone with one of those in the attic?

The State of California has declared that just being alive is hazardous to your health.

Scott!

Many thanks to all of you who responded to my question, even the humorous ones. I think I know a little more now than before....Mr. RC, if I don't unload it at the swap meet, I may give you a call and do some dealing with you....Thanks again, Jim
