radio help! rf module? frequency? 40mhz to 72mhz some how?
I have a guy willing to trade me a futaba 7uhps computer radio, has software for all kinds of stuff, but it is the European model and is at 40 Mhz, would changing the RF module change it to 72 Mhz making it legal?

Changing the module should put the radio on 72mhz but there might be some other reason that it is illegal. I would check with Futaba.

There are five modules that fit into the 7U available in the US:
Futaba FB-TB-FM available in 72Mhz and 50 Mhz
Futaba FB-TK-FM available in 72 Mhz and 50 Mhz
Futaba FB-TJ-FM available in 27 Mhz and 75 Mhz
Futaba TB-TSM 72 Mhz Synthesized module (unknown if this will be aproved for the 7U when it comes out)
Hitec Spectra Synthesized module (this one is NOT approved and violates FCC and AMA rules)
Fritz
