Default XP8103 Broke Elev. D/R Switch

Got a used XP8103 and it's been great using it on G2 for training but I got careless and snapped the Elevator D/R switch off. I didn't drop it, just tried to squeeze it in a space between the printer and TV on my desk and the switch caught and snapped the paddle off.

I have no problem soldering so repairing it won't be an issue, I'm just curious what type of switch to get to replace it. Radio Shack has some that look identical to mine but I read another post just below this one about broken switches on a Futaba 6 ch radio and something about SPST and SPDT switches was mentioned. What's this all about and do I need to pay attention to it?

Thanks,

SPST = Single Pole / Single throw - a 2 position (On/Off) switch
SPDT = Single Pole / Double Throw - a 3 position switch

Replace it with what was in it originally - I think the D/R switch was probably SPST.
You might even be able to order a replacement switch from Radio South.

if the switch has 2 terminals then it is spst. if it has 3 terminals then it is spdt. in both cases it is a 2 position switch

Thank you! I was wondering about the first explanation!
krosk, thanks for the input anyway, got me started down the right path.

I went to Radio Shack and sure enough, they had replacement switches, actually a little bit better feeling I think, The throw has more resistance. We'll see what it's like once installed.

Thanks again guys!
