Default Five cell pack / JR Receiver

Question, would a six channel JR reciever work with a five cell battery pack? I made it by adding a JR connector to a 600 milliamp telephone battery pack. When fully charged the voltmeter reads 7 volts.

Thank you.

It will work fine. If you can, you may want to inspect the cell tabs on the cells. Batteries for phones have no reason to have real secure tab mounting. Remember that you'll be trusting your model to the battery.

Why did you waste the time salvaging a old phone pack. You can make a new 2500 nimh pack fo $10 and last 4 times as long.
