JR 9303 or JR 10X
I'm in the market for a new Tx and trying to get some unbiased feedback...
Given all things being equal, would you pick a used JR 10X over a new JR 9303???
The price is about the same for both, so I'm curious which is actually the better Tx for the same $$$...

RE: JR 9303 or JR 10X
I have the JR 10X transmitter. The price of the 10X system is almost two times the cost of the JR 9303 system. The digital servos in the 10X system are more advanced than the servos with the standard 9303 system.
The decision on either system depends on what you plan to use the system for. For example, I fly pattern and like the ease of programming on the 10X. I have been using the 10 series transmitters ever since they first came out. I do like the features of the 9303 system. With the flight modes (similar to Futaba) you can program different snap set-ups. This way if I need an inside snap as well as an outside snap, I could assign another flight mode to a switch. I wish my 10X Tx had this feature.
If I were to buy a back-up system, I would consider the 9393 system with upgraded servos. My JR dealer says he can customize the system and provide upgrade servos for the differential servo cost.
Good Luck,
SWK

RE: JR 9303 or JR 10X
I own both the 10X and the 9303 now. I am selling my 10X. The 9303 is much more useful in most occaisions. I reccomend the 9303 Heli with 8311 servos. These servos are better than the 8231's that come with the 10X.
9303: 9 channels, 30 model memories, 3 model types: heli, glider, and airplane.
10X: 10 channels, 10 model memories, 1 model type. (although with the air you can also do glider and with the heli you can do heli, air, and glider with mixes. It is very complicated though...) Oh, the 10 also comes with fancy carry case.
Unless you really need that 10th dedicated channel, the 9303 has all you need.
The 9303 also is lighter, thinner, and more ergonomic. Buy an aluminum "gun case" from your sporting good store and get the 9303. You will be happy I think.

RE: JR 9303 or JR 10X
It all depends on what you are going to fly. If it is airplanes and heli then you have to pick the 9303. If your just going to fly airplanes then you have to decide what type of planes your going to fly. If you fly 33% or bigger aerobatic planes then there is no question, the 10X will have much more in depth programming than the 9303. If your going to compete in 3D and or pattern flying then the 10X has the advantage. It all boils down to what your going to fly and how serious you intend to fly. If someone tells you that the 9303 will do everything a 10X will do, there wrong. They simply have not programmed deep enough or do not know what the 10X can really do.

RE: JR 9303 or JR 10X
Thanks for all the replies...
It's a mute point now, as I just bought a JR 10x...
The gentleman I purchased the 10x from also has a 9303... We had a discussion about the 2 radios, the pluses and minuses of each... The bottom line for this gentleman was that he was doing more sport flying than precision aero & 3D and didn't need all the features of the 10x, but he liked both... I finally asked him why he chose to keep the 9303 and sell the 10x and he said, "because it's newer"... lol...
I plan on using the 10x for all my 30% and larger aerobatic airplanes, where I need the depth of programming for mixing channels... And yes, I have already run into situations where that 10th channel would have come in VERY handy...

On the 9303, what are the names given to the slider levers on either side of the transmitter? What can they be used for? If they are switches that can be assigned to perform functions, how do you identify them in the switch assignments menu. Are they used similiar to the slider switches on the Futaba 9C?

RE: JR 9303 or JR 10X
The only thing I have found about the 9303 that realy p!$$e$ me off is in aircraft mode you cannot use the flap 3 position switch in mixes unless you are using flight modes on that switch or using flaps. Other than that it is a simple to use very powerful radio. This problem would not be enuff to keep me from buying another one.
