Default Servos: importance of correct setting - graphic calculator

Geometric position of servo in respect to control surface, lengths of the horns, and initial
angles with servo at rest (1500 microsec signal) will all influence the transfer of angle and
torque (force).
For normal cases, aligning the servo axis with control surface axis, putting both horns
perpendiculat to this alignment line, and having the servo horn shorter or equal to the
control surface horn, will give good results.
For special cases, e.g. a flap, one could try to achieve a greater force when the flap
is fully extended, and a smaller when flap is not used.
You will find a graphic calculator showing these effects (it is called ANALYSER.EXE)
that can be actionned manually but also from a transmitter signal.
There are also other freeware softwares and a PIC cable.

New version for the ANALYSER: works as a graphic calculator for your servo links, moved by the mouse. Later you can control by the transmitter, with a PIC cable:

Other downloads and doc in 'Articles' at [link]http://www.jdm-nivelles.be[/link]
Most of the doc is available in english.

Soon an improved version:

And also soon a real time helico viewer, similar to the plane/glider viewer:
