Default Antenna Wire - Cut & Solder

I had a very bad nick on my receiver antenna wire. It was barely hanging on by a few strands of wire. Luckily I cought it in time. However I did not face and reduced range strange behaviour.

I just cut the wire where it was damaged. Soldered it back and put heat shrink tube on top.

I lost about 3 inch total length of the antenna wire.

Question: Is it safe for me to use this receiver? Any steps I should follow before launching a bird in the air?

Yes, as long as you made a good solder joint. It would not hurt to add a few inches onto the end, just solder on enough to make the total length anywhere from 39 to 41 inches long.
