Default Bare Bones Controller

I was wondering if there are any cheap controllers on the market.
What I want is basicly a normal RC Transmitter box, but without any of the radio stuff, just the 2 joysticks and a digital output.
I would use a playstation controller or something and just programme a micro controller to interface with that, but they're not really bulky enough and don't have a nice feel.

I've seen things like the GameBird and the Futaba Interlink, but I was wondering if there were cheaper ones available or just a transmitter box before any of the radio equipment has been put inside.

Thanks.

You can probably buy a cheap 4ch used or an old non-stickered radio for a couple of bucks. Can't believe a new box would be cheaper.
Radios pre-91 are garbage if not gold-stickered, as you cannot have them done anymore. They are worthless.
