Servos not centering
Hello,
I'm having trouble with 2 Airtronics 94102Z servos on my TopCap. Both servos are setup on pull-pull (rudder and elevator) and both do not center correctly. When I move the stick left and then let it go it doesn't come back to center. Doing the same to the right does the same except that it comes closer to center.
I know that these servos are standard but why are they not centering? Could it be that the pull-pull cables are too tight thus putting too much pressure on the servos?
Just a note, I have a couple more of these servos that are not on pull-pull and they work fine. I don't think it affects flight performance since I haven't noticed anything but it just bothers me.
Thanks

RE: Servos not centering
Those servos do not have ball bearings, as a result, the the tension from the cables causes the the output shaft to have more than normal drag on the shaft bore. You need ball bearing servos on a pull-pull application.

RE: Servos not centering
I know but Im not going to spend more money for this since it doesn't affect flight performance.
If I loosen the cables a bit, will it help?
Thanks

RE: Servos not centering
For about $6 you can get a ball bearing replacement servo top from EMS and turn your servo into a ball bearing servo.
What you are seeing is the deadband of the servo. Since it don't bother your flying why bother with it?
