There is a Futaba 8U super with a Hitec Spectra module that I plan to purchase.
The price is $225 which includes the TX, charger, Spectra, aluminum double case, and programming manual.
This seems to be about the normal asking price for an 8U super depending on what it comes with.
Is this TX combo at this price the right way to go ?
I currently have a Hitec Flash 5x.
I would like to gain the capability to implement CROW on my Ultra Stick and have the flap to elevator mix.
Another desirable feature (which apparently is very difficult to get) is the ability to switch between full span ailerons and flaps / CROW on the Ultra Stick.
Any new / used TX purchase I make will require the ability to change channels.

Comments / opinions will be appreciated.

This has been said hundreds of times, but here it is again. Be aware that using the Spectra module in the Futaba radio is illegal, according to the FCC and AMA. If it comes to a dispute over some damages caused by you, AMA will probable not cover you, if they find out that you were using the Spectra. FCC says that "type acceptance" is required, and the Spectra and Futaba have not been "type accepted".

FWIW,
Spectra 'issues' aside, the Super 8 does everything I had hoped it would on the Ultra Stick.

It will work on a 8U.
Be careful if you go to a 9C.
While it will electrically work, there are differences in the 9C that make the use less than optimal.
