Default Question about 6V Rx packs

Will a standard Futaba wall type charger handle the charging duties for a 6V Rx pack? I'm thinking of going with 2000mA 6V pack. Thanks!

I don't believe so...

theoretically It can, but it will take it at least a couple days to charge anything up....
others will confirm or deny this, but that is what I understand...

I use the Accucycle Elite and love it...

I have used the wall charger for years for 6v. It works...is it the best way to go?...probably not

2000ma will take a while, especially if it's completely dead ...48hrs...

I charge my 1700 mah 6 volt pack all the time on my Futaba wall wort. It does a great job and charges it full, better than my field charger. Seems to last longer (more even charge). I just make sure to leave it on there until it feels warm and you know it's fully charged (15-20 hours). Works great. I only use the field charger when I have to and that's rarely.

I second the accucyle elite. I lost an airplane while trying to charge big rx packs on wall warts, and vowed never again. They have a really nice review on RCU. Go check it out.

You should always check the battery under load before flying. Also cycle it now and then. A wall wort will not be a cause of a crash if the battery is checked under load and holds a steady voltage.

look at the chareger output on the label. should be about 50 mah- 50 an hour. 2000 divided by 50 equals a 40 hour charge.

i've charged 5cell, 1300 mah packs with my standard airtonics charger and have never had a problem.

Which voltage output are you using?? the regular RX 4.8v output? or the TX higher voltage output??

just the regular one for the reciever. i don't believe it is regulated to 4.8 volts though. after fully charging my 5 cell, sub c sized, 1300 mah packs, the voltage would be from 6.8 to 7.1 depending how long i left it on.

i seen where you got the 4.8 output. i just checked my old Futaba charger. that one puts out 50mah.

i fly Airtronics and that charger just says 75 mah. just do like joeairport says, and checked under load.
