Default Coreless vs. non-coreless

I've been flying for a long time, and have always wondered:

What's the difference between Coreless and non coreless servos?

I know the coreless are usually faster and more powerful (from looking at the specs), but what's the difference?

What does "coreless" mean?

Thanks!
