Kraft Pots and Futaba Pots: Technical Challenge
I've got a futaba radio that has one pot not working and would like to put in a kraft one. i have already tried wiring it on directly but the movement of the servo is very small in comparison to what it was before. usually the movement is around 100 degrees. with the kraft pot its about 20 degree sweep.
both pots are 5K ohms and sweep about 150 degrees. both are centered. is there anything i can do to get the kraft pot to fit into the futaba? i'd try to get another pot from the store but i'm afraid it will result in the same thing. are futaba pots non linear?
THANKS!!!
talking about pot, i've got the munchies...

you must be mistaken about at least one of these statements.... UNLESS the total electrical travel of the two pots are different.... typically, the total electrical travel is about 300°.

i mean that normally the full travel of the stick moves the servo about 100 degrees (actually only 60 degrees) from end to end. but when i use the kraft pot, the full travel of the stick only makes the servo move about 15 degrees.
i replaced the pot.
any other suggestions?

do you want direction on what to do or why it is happening?
if the latter, then see my previous post....
if you're looking for direction, contact Tony Stillman at Radio South and get the correct pot.....

PS.... if your results were reversed, there IS something that you could do, but in your case you need a different pot...
