Default RE: JR Radio buddied up with a GWS ?? Can it be done ??

Hi,

Questions :
1) Is the GWS-transmitter fitted with a buddy-box connector? According to your sayings, I suppose it is.
2) If question 1 is positive, what type of connector is it? I assume you use a JR buddy lead, which consists of 2 male jack (3.5mm or 1/8" ) MONO. But according to this website, the GWS described there is a STEREO jack with other connections : http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/bhabbott/fms.html
So check inside the GWS-transmitter if yes or no it's a STEREO jack. If YES, then you will need to make a new buddy lead with one mono jack and one stereo jack : the mon jack to be fitted in your JR, the stereo into the GWS.
To make the new buddy-lead, connect the "OUT-signal" (ring) of the STEREO-connector to the tip of the mono plug. The GROUND (sleeve) of the stereo connector should be connected to the sleeve of the mono-plug (this all according to the website I found).
Of course, you could check by yourself if the OUT-signal is really there as per that website, by using a free downloadable scope (URL and how to use to be found on my website chapter 1, paragraph 1.1., see my webaddres below signature).

If this cable-setup does not work, you could switch signal-OUT with GROUND and test again, but then be sure never allow metal parts of one transmitter touch metal parts of other transmitter.

3) If question 1 is negative, did you check here :
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...ws+transmitter
and here :
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...hreadid=175110

Both transmitters probably to be switched on if GWS does not switch on automatically when pluggin-in the buddy-lead. And for safety, ALWAYS remove crystal of slave transmitter! The slave transmitter does not need to transmit!
And of course master-transmtiter to be on the same frequency as the receiver in the model you want to learn with.

With the JR6102 you could use the "pilot-link master function", check-out here :

Keep in touch, interesting item for others to know any effective solution !

Olivier
