Default Why TOWER dosen't sell JR Radio's ?

Hello everyone, I was just wondering why big hobby sites like Tower Hobbies and the like, only deal with ONE radio manufacturer. Either Futaba or JR.

Since they are BIG hobby shops, shouldn't they have ALL major brands to make it convienient for the customer? or maybe something is going on behind the scene that I am not aware of.

Your comments are very much appreciated in advance.

Mohammad Reza.

I'm sure they (Tower) have a contract with Futaba that they will not sell JR products just like Horizon dose not sell Futaba. It would be like the Dodge dealership also selling Fords......not gonna work. [8D]

Because their competitor, Horizon Hobbies is the exclusive U.S. importer of JR products. The same reason that Horizon does not carry Futaba, because Tower (AKA Great Planes) is the exclusive U.S. Futaba importer.

Tower does sell Hitec, Airtronics and Multiplex. With Futaba, that makes for a pretty good selection.

Great Planes/Hobbico/Tower Hobbies are the same company and are the importer/distributor for Futaba - so why would you sell your main competition.

Same deal for Horizon Hobby - they are the importer/distributor for JR radios.

I don't see why it makes a difference. You can order JR brand from the Horizon Hobby website and get just as good of service from them as Tower....

And I see now that Chip Hyde is using Airtronics. Maybe that will help boost their sales.
