Default Futaba 3PK help

Anyone purchased Futaba 3PK's from HK ebay sellers? At least high rating.

Good value for money?

Hobbytech sell these versions..
Set with FM/HF receiver: € 39.00
Set with PCM receiver: € 349.00
Transmitter with HF-module: € 229.00

Bit confused with the different types. Modelsport sell a 3PK and it's £320!

If the HK sellers RC gear is the fully loaded kit, how come so cheap? Too good to be true? What about customs

From what i've read, not many people get charged customs when importing from HK, theres a lot less chance of paying it than if you were importing from the US. No idea why, that just seems to be the way it is. I've been looking at getting one myself, and will probably get the one with the aluminum case if the seller ever lists any more. I'll get the 40MHz FM PCM one, as if you get the HRS receiver you can only use it with digital servos - and I don't have any!

I heard that not many shops in the UK are doing the 3pk anymore because they can't compete with the price when ordering from HK.

Hope this helps.

Oh, another thing, apparently the 40MHz FM frequencies ending in 0 are illegal for use in the UK, you have to use the ones ending with 5. As far as I know dinball includes frequencies ending in 5, but some of the others may not. Something else to consider as another set of crystals can only add to the price!

Maybe because HK was a British rental property for 100 years?

Looking into the 3PK, is the PCM version safe/correct model to use with digital servos? Is the HRS included? (whatever that is) so basically is this the right model for Hitec/Multiplex digital servos?

Basicly the go is that when you purchase a 3PK it comes in 2 different packages. One comes with the HRS receiver and the other comes with the PCM.
The Futaba PCM1024 receiver is safe for use with both analogue and digital servos. HRS is for digital servos only. I haven't actually heard any horror stories yet but it says in the manual that attempting to use a standard servo with a HRS result will likely result in a fire [X(]

The benefit of the HRS is 3x the response rate but i don't think anyone but elitest of drivers could ever notice any difference.
