Default Radio Frequency ?

Hi all, I have been on the forum for just a few weeks now and would like to say there seams to be a lot of nice folks here, now too my question.
I have figured out that 75 MHz is for non air use and 72 MHz is for air use but, what is 27 MHz for. I should point out, if it is not all ready clear, I'm just getting started in this so, please bear with me.

I think the car guys use 27mhz. It kind of takes care of itself when you go buy the equipment you need.

i.e. If you go buy an airplane radio, it's all pretty much 72mhz.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find lots of great info!

The 27 band is actually legal for use with aircraft (though not recommended)

From the AMA Membership manual:

1.1.1. Six frequencies:26.995 MHz to 27.195 MHz on a 0.05 MHz
spacing; and 27.255 MHz.
Regulations require crystal controlled transmitters with specified limiton power output. Rules permit operation of both model aircraft and model surface craft as well as home-built RC equipment. Because it is shared with other services, 27.255 MHz is not generally recommended for model aircraft RC. These frequencies are also subject to adjacent
channel CB radio interference.

A lot of the electric park flyers that come as a complete unit (receiver, transmitter, actuators, motor, batteries etc.) come with 27 MHZ radio systems.
