Default Is AM transmitter still legal?

Hi all,
I just wanted to know if I can still use my old (circa 1986) Futaba Conquest 4 channel AM transmitter legally. I mean it works fine with updated batteries and switch and it had been gold stickered back in 91. It has been in a slope glider for the past 18 years and I want to go fly it once in a while. But I don't want to cause interference for others and I'll trash it if it is obsolete.
I flew the glider last year with no problems, but there was only one other person in the air at that time.

There is no rule against using AM. The only rule is the narrow banding, and if you got it gold stickered, which says it meets narrow band rules, you are ok to fly with it. Just remember, it must be on one of the new numbered channels (no yellow and white). Remember, you must have a clear channel just like any other radio, an AM radio will interefere with an FM radio on the same channel and vise versa.

Um, the reciever should be checked out to be sure it too is narrow band. Futaba put out some radios in that era with a narrow TX and a wide RX. Check the model number with the Futaba web site.
