Default Servos for .25 Bipe?

I am building a small .25 powered biplane with 32" span and wing area of 425 sq. inches. I want to keep its total weight down by using smaller than standard radio gear such as a HiTec 535 receiver and a 350mah battery pack. I am thinking of using only one standard size Futaba servo for the ailerons, an S3003 with 44 oz./in. of torque. For the throttle, rudder and elevator I would like to use S3101 servos which weigh 0.6oz. less each and have a torque of 35 oz./in. Do these sound adequate for this project?

Default .25

should work fine, you could even go with a micro servo for throttle , the 3101 can be used as well for the alerons.

Default Servos for .25 Bipe?

I have a Waco that calls for a .30 4stroke and I put a .25 in it and found some small servos with 4.8VDC:42 oz-in. and the Weight:is only .70oz (19.2 g) The Hitec HS85BB servos have worked flawlessly and have been centering well for me. You can get them here with free shipping in the US and the prices are not too bad either http://www.servocity.com/Products/Hi...hty_micro.html

Dauntae, the Hitec servos look good. Will keep them in mind for future applications as I have a box of the Futabas available for use now.

Default Waco bipe

Dauntae,
How about some info on that Waco? How was the kit? How did it fly on the 25?

Default wing load

the wing load sounds high....
I was thinking of getting the same plane. I believe that is the one sold by Hobby People... ???
the only engine I have laying around is a 32 sx. is that too much power or too much weight for the little plane?

Default Servos for .25 Bipe?

Yes it is the ARF from Hobby people when they had it on sale for $119 last year at this time, Have not flown it that much, I jumped a little to far for my skills when I got it but did get a few flights in. The biggest problem I found and have read is the take-off, It just wants to jump in the air without enough speed so you need to hone your skille a bit on the ground, The kit looked real good and a very nice job on the covering but had to epoxy the firewall on better because I managed to pull it right off without any wood breaking. It seemed a little loose and I did not trust it so I pulled to see if it was strong and it started to come loose. The directions are vauge but I had some help from another biplane builder to set it all up. It was designed for a .30 4-stroke so the 32 might be ok but you will have to keep the throttle down a bit. It does fly nice and seems to handle pretty scale with a pretty good roll rate but I need to get it back into the air nor that I have much more stick time with tail draggers. I put it on a shelf for now while it still looked good, Don't want to crash this one into toothpics. I just need to get another 25 wich powers it nicely. http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/127525.asp

Default Servos for .25 Bipe?

I have an Ace Ultimate Bipe that I'm running an OS 25 in and I am using HS-55 servos all the way around and a HS-555 RX. I have had ZERO problems with this combination and they definately saved weight. I run only 1 servo for all 4 ailerons and I have had no problems with response time, flutter, etc. Just my 2 cents nut it works for me.
