Servos for 40%
Hi,
I'm currently building a 40% Carden Extra 260, I'm still undecided as to what servos to use in it. I like the idea of Hitec servos with the programmer, but have heard some mixed reports about self centering problems, does anyone have any experience with this? The other option is off course the new JR 8611A or the Futaba 9152/3.
I want to put the best servos possible into this model, I mainly fly IMAC but would like the plane to be 3D capable as well.
Many Thanks,
Matthew

RE: Servos for 40%
I have both the 5955tg's & the 8611a's...even in the same plane. Both these servos have monster torque & are perfect for any 40%. The 5955tg's are a little noiser (squeal) but have a better gear train than the 8611's. May JR fans are moving to the Hitec 55's because of this. Personally I haven't (yet) seen any more slop from the JR's than the Hitec 55's. If it were me, I would stay away from any Hitec on a flight surface other than the 5955tg's.
All the centering problems you have heard about, are on the other less expensive Hitec's. The fast grear train wear on the JR's does however include the current 8611a. I just haven't seen it.
