I have a SIG four star 60 that I would like to try to do Flaperons on. It has a servo for each aileron but goes into a "y". I know it cannot be done with a "y". How do I set up my radio ?Heres the info..

Great radio & great plane. Flaperons won't be a problem.
-You'll need 2 extensions and won't need the Y connector.
-Plug your right aileron servo into the aileron channel of the receiver.
-Plug the left aileron servo into channel 6 on your receiver.
**I use different colored zip-ties on the matching leads. For example, white on the right servo lead and the extension to ch 2. Black on the left one and the extension to ch 6.
-Go to the System Mode (Hold both Down & Select bottons down and turn on)
-Scroll to WING TYPE and use + to select Flaperon.

This will let both servos work for aileron control.

Once you have flaperons selected and set, there are several things you can do.
1. Use flaps separately. Go to SWITCH SEL in the System Mode and pick the switch you want to activate the flaps.
2. Set stunt type flaperons that work opposite to elevator.
-Go to the Function Menu
-Scroll to ELE->F MX
-Set in the amount of flaps you want with up and down elevator.
3. Set spoilers. This is done the same way as stunt flaps except the flaps move the same direction as the elevator. These are useful for harriers and some 3D.
4. Set landing flaps with compensating elevator. (Page 39 in manual)
-In Function Menu, scroll to FLAP SYSTEM.
-Set in flaps and elevator.
This sets an elevator movement to compensate for any pitch tendencies you have when flaps are lowered. It takes a while to get this correct, but it works.

OK so it took me an extra day to get back to it , but I did and that is too cool!

That was too easy! Im going to start with 35-40% flaps. Do I need to mix in some elevator too?

Do you have any other pointers??

Thanks again!!

Mixing in elevator with flaps is personal preference. I rarely do it, but on a scale plane that was a little tricky to land, I probably would. That's what the landing switch is for, to set multiple items. I have also used to set up spoilers for harriers and for take off settings on hand launch planes.
