Default ServoCity has come competition...

Placed an order with Donald's Hobby (advertises here on RCU) 5945s for $74--free shipping--placed order at 2 PM and it went out the same day---VERY HARD TO BEAT THAT!

Default ServoCity has come competition...

In the last year I've bought 23 servos. All Hitec. All from Servo City. Because of the free shipping AND the great service I don't care if someone can beat their price by a small amount. I'm sticking with the people that treat me right.
In the case of $8.00 savings PER servo something smells fishy. These have got to be early models or bulk versions. C'mon think about it. :stupid:

I simply shopped around. I found prices for the Hitec digitals ranging from $47 to $49 each. ServoCity has them for $55. These are from hobby shops that advertise in RCM, MAN & other hobby mags. I'm sure if there was something wrong it would be posted to death here and elsewhere (yes, I did a search); I know I would blast any shop that ripped me off. The simple fact is some consumers just don't bother to shop around. Last year I was in the market for a Sony MiniDV digital camcorder. The prices ran from $1049. to $1799. I checked them all out. The very cheap ones were 'Grey market'. No USA warranty, etc. I ended up paying $1139. when most people were paying $1599. at their local retail outlet. Just because you can find a good deal doesn't necessarily mean that something's fishy....however sometimes it is and you need to perform due diligence and check it out. "Let the Buyer Beware" not only means to watch out for poor quality products but also to keep an eye on service AND price. Where I live gasoline prices vary as much as .20 per gallon! You need to shop around. The same is true for furniture, groceries, clothing, appliances, cars, mortgages etc. etc. Yes, some dishonest people will try to take advantage of you and some will jack up their prices but if you look around and check it out you will find good deals.

I've made a few orders to ServoCity. I'll never shop anywhere else for Hitec servos and servo extensions. I am like a few otheres here. $30 or $40 isn't going to scare me away from servocity. Although I doubt that you'd really be able to save that much somehwere else.

I always get my orders within 5 or 6 business days from servocity. NEVER a problem and very friendly people to deal with.

Thanks ServoCity. You guys are the best!!!!!!!

Default Hitech flight pack

Hi all-
I just ordered a Hitech flight pack from Spectrum Hobbies because of the price. The only thing that concerns me is that they say a free crystal is included, but they had nowhere to put in what channel that you needed on the order form.I E-mailed them right after the order processed-I hope they get it and send me my channel 36 crystal instead of the first one thay grab out of a pile of them or something.Has anyone had this experience with them in the past? Thanks,
Mike

I bought my T9 CAP from Servo City a couple of weeks ago. I had never heard of them, but for the price, I took a leap of faith. Not only was a surprised to find out the shipping was free, they sent it two-day air! I had my new radio in my hands 4 business days after ordering it.

I will be a return customer. I personally don't care what the price is, as long as I am satisfied with the end result. I've also had many good experiences with Tower Hobbies (they have great prices too!) and I will be doing business with these two companies almost exclusively.

Why waste time shopping around when I know my extra $3 or $4 means that I'll be happy in the end!

Servo City is very reliable. I have recently found, Donalds hobby to be very reliable also, He advertises on RCU very good prices, and good service. http://www.donalds-hobby.com
I would not hesitate to deal with either one of these people.

I have found Tower Hobbies, even including paying for shipping
much cheaper on a number of same sold items (motors, tires,
chargers etc.) than ServoCity. For example, MRC SuperBrain
959 charger is $46 at Tower and $57 at ServoCity.
Ballbearing Gearbox kits for $18.95 at ServoCity are
$12.95 at Tower Hobbies. Both have good service, though
I rate Tower a bit higher. ServoCity doesnt really have
"free shipping" on higher priced items, as its already built
into the price!

You've got to remember that Tower is pushing a lot more volume than these smaller companies, hence the better prices. That is to be expected. But I have been pleasantly surprised at their efficiency. I fully expected that I would have problems getting my orders correct and on time, due to the shear size of TH, but so far, I haven't had a single problem!

I order from Tower, HeliProz and Rich Ballantine for Horizon stuff, and now my first order from Servo City. Tower has made 1 mistake and sent me a muffler extension instead of some servo extensions, and when I called they overnighted the servo extensions and told me to keep or throw away the muffler extension.

Pretty good service.

William

PS: I emailed Servo City about price matching and they said this:
Hi William,
The prices are all listed on our website.
HS-545BB $29.95
HS-645MG $39.95
HS-325BB $12.95
HD Switch harness $9.95

Thanks

Hmmm...for USPS, Saturday is a travel day...so maybe tomorrow. This comes with the PCM module, right? I know it comes with a wimpy neck strap, and 600mAh batts, right? what else? Freq flag?

LOL. I can't say I blame him. I get excited everytime I get a new gadget. Especially one as cool as the 9C.

The 9C has a whopping 700mah pack. The module is just the standard FP-TP-FM. There is no such thing as a PCM module.
You just select PCM or PPM in the config menus.
