Default Which reciever to use with JR R-756

I got this radio in a trade and it came with a Tekin reciever. But as it can store models in its memory I want to ditch my other transmitters and use just this one, but I need to get a couple of reciever and am not sure what would be compatiable as this is a PCM radio. Can I just use a regular FM reciever with the right crystal or does it need to be "PCM safe?"

The 756 will operate with about any JR 3 channel or less receiver. When you go into setup you can choose PPM (commanly referred to as FM) or PCM to match the receiver of choice. If you look in the Horizon Hobby website support section I think you can still download the manual.

Still a good radio, both feature and feel wise. It will accept the Spektrum module made for the R1 if you want to upgrade.
