Default Will a Futaba R127DF work w/ my 7CAP?

I have a Fut. 7CAP and someone's offering me a R127DF receiver - anybody know for sure if it will work with my 7CAP? Not all Futaba receivers are compatible with all Futaba transmitters - my newly acquired R114f doesn't work as it is positive shift and the 7CAP is negative. I want to be sure.

What makes you think the Futaba R114F is positive shift? All Futaba FM (PPM) Rx's and Tx's sold through the North American market use negative modulation shift. If you are referring to the indications that this is a low band Rx, then that is an entirely different matter and only applies to many Futaba Rx's. It means that due to the way the Rx's are tuned to the center of either the high or low end of band rather than than to the center of the entire band as all other manufacturers do now and because of this the Rx will only accept channel 16 (Futaba suggest that 11 through 15 not be used with this Rx) through 35 (the lower half of the band).

Also note that the 114 requires the short crystal.

All Futaba receivers are compatible with All Futaba transmitters as long as they are on the same R/C channel and of the same modulation. Some receivers require the "short" crystal, and won't work with the regular crystal. If you are changing a receiver's channel over a wide span, it may need to be retuned to the new channel for best range.

I was going by the fact that 1) it doesn't work (although that could well be the crystal - thanks Bax), and 2) on [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/pgarchive/Futaba_R114F.htm]this page[/link] it says Receiver Shift: Yes. I'll pick up a short crystal and try again. Thanks.

There's no such thing as Reciever Shift:yes

Its either positive or negative. Futaba, in North American markets uses negative shift, JR and Airtronics use Postive.

As long as you have the correct crystal and you have the correct modulation selected, ppm in your case, it should work just fine.

Don't get a short crystal for the R127DF...it won't work. Your 7CAP should be set for PPM in order to use the R127DF receiver. If the reciever is on your channel it's a perfect match.
