The 9Z is the answer to your question.

Ditto, Futaba 9Z has Type Selection capability which JR10X doesn't have.
JR10X for airplanes doesn't have heli programs.
I wonder why JR didn't give their 10X more versatility.
I understand they persued proffesional TX, but I think they should have
added type selection function at least.
But they say JR10X is more user friendly than Futaba 9Z.
I use Futaba 9ZA. It's a nice TX, but I can not set it up again without
reffering the manual.

To my knowledge the 9Z is no longer available as new stock, Tower does not list it. I believe that Futaba replaced the 9Z with the new 12 channel unit. The 9C Super is a lot of radio for the price if it meets all your needs.
I just ordered one just within the hour and the final cost from Tower was $309 after their "deals" and a $10 rebate, thats for the airplane version, crystal rf module (too many issues with their "dial a crash" modules and other brands of receivers[]) and an 8 channel PPM receiver, no servos (got all I need for now)
Good luck with whatever you decide to go with

If you need something now I say the 9C but Im guessing there will be a LOT of new technology coming soon from JR and Futaba..Spread Spektrum for one...I would invest as little as possible for now...

I agree with Josey, if you do not need something right away wait for awhile. There are alot of guys selling their 10X and 9C radios right now in favor of the DX7. Rumor has it that Hitec will be coming out with a 9 channel TX using the DSS system. I'm in a similar situation as my Tx does not have dual elevator capability which is all I really need that I do not have. I'll wait a little longer and see what the manufacturers come up with during the next year.

It's all in how you look at it ------ I'm one who went flawless 10X to DX7.

The other point is to sell while your current gear will still bring a good price: I did and it did.

I really am impressed with the features offered by the DX7 and speaking about price ---- well you can't do much better than a DX7.
I loved my 10X but felt it was time to move on. If JR or Spektrum offer a new 10X or 12X and I like it and feel I can use its features I'll move on again.

I see little or no advantage in waiting.

To my knowledge the 9Z is no longer available as new stock
I have seen them on Ebay and some online retailers new stock. They probably purchased up lots of them when the 14MZ was released and the 9Z discontinued not expecting the 12Z to come along so quickly. But at the prices they were listed for a couple hundred more you could get a 12Z.

You might also look at the EVO 9, if I hadnt gotten my 9Z when I did I was looking at them. Lots of featured and very flexible.

A couple of guys at our field have the 12z thats one IMPRESSIVE radio, many of the features of the 14 without the fluff and it feels very nice in the hands, the gimbles are smooth as silk, I wish I could justify its purchase with the head of domestic relations.

You should look at the Multiplex EVO radios. Very flexible and IMHO the best value in radios. I use the Profi 4000 and its wonderful. I believe the Futaba 9Z uses licensed Mulitplex software. My friend has the EVO 12 and says its much better than the JR10 for flexibility.
