Default Basic Synth Radio for ground use

I am looking to get new TX/RX sets for a couple of old RC10T truck that my 2 sons (ages 6 and 8) bash around in the yard. Every once in a while, I'll take them to the local track to run on a real race track, but when we do they usually run into the frequency barrier. What I am looking for is a basic starter radio that is synth so that we can easily switch freq and keep on running. So, I have found several of the basic 27 MHz 6 channel synth radios that come with the Losi Mini LST. Does anyone have any experience with these? Or do you have another suggestion of an inexpensive combo that I could buy? Here is a link to what I am considering.

Thanks in advance for any help.
