Default Metal gears for JR 4721 servos?

I have about a dozen JR 4721 servos, and I like them very much for their speed, precision, and smoothness. However, 3d flight calls for metal geared servos because of the severe loads exerted on the servo.. I read on a thread somewhere where a guy was talking about having upgraded his 4721s with metal gears. He didn't say how he did it or where he got the gear sets. I know that JR's 2721 is basically the same servo as the 4721, only with metal gears. Does anybody know if the gear train from the 2721 is a direct replacement for the 4721 gear set? Please, no guesses. I need to know for sure. I would be sorely disappointed if I bought new gear sets and they did not work. Can anybody help?

Default RE: Metal gears for JR 4721 servos?

I believe JR made a conversion kit for them but I also believe they have been discontinued. Sorry, I know thats not much help.
