Airtronics (Sawana) RD-8000 vs. JR & Futaba
I want a new radio and have been reasonably happy with my Vanguard-6.
Any thought on comparing this radio to other ~$300 radio's?
Tower's price

Airtronics (Sawana) RD-8000 vs. JR & Futaba
This is my opinion only. I fly Airtronics. I have had Futaba, Hitec, Kraft, Ace, EK Logic, Heath Kit, Gallopping Ghost radios so I have stepped up over the years.
I had a bad expierance with Futaba and Hitec service so that is one reason I like Airtronics. For me the Airtronics felt better then the others. The distance between the sticks, hieght, tension, and just the way the gimbles moved.
I have not flown with Jr, but have been told they are a top notch radio.
Try Heliproz for good prices on radios. http://heliproz.com/

JR
I've flown with JR as long as I've been flying. GREAT RADIOS, I've got a Max 6 which still works perfect (been using it for years) a XP 642, and a XP 652. All are great radios. They don't make the max 6 any more but the 652 is probably the hottest selling radio JR has. never have had a problem with any of mine. but if you do Horizon Hobbies offers great service for them quick and accurate. They do cost a little more I think. I'm not sure about airtronics but JR's run a little steeper than futuba. I would highly recommend JR to you.
