Internet controlled motor?
Could someone point me in a direction to learn how to set up an internet controlled motor?
I have a studio camera on a track, that I would like to have controlled by a user on the internet.
Is such a thing possible?
huck

RE: Internet controlled motor?
I don't like to say anything is impossible these days, but there sure would be a lot of problems to work out for this to work.
Basically what you would have to do is have the camera control itself and then have it respond to commands. Such as: Move to position 3 and shoot five picture. Then it would be necessay to have a computer in the camera follow those instructions.
I doubt you could have real time control due to transmission delays even with a high speed connection

All you would need is the right software and hardware.
Think about how lights are controlled at concerts. They are pre-programmed in a computer.
Think of how a CNC mill gets it's movement from a computer.
Find away to interface the camera/track with a computer, then find or develope the software to allow you to control it.
I don't think you could fly a plane over the internet due to lag, but move a camera over a track, why not.

Piece of cake if you can write simple software. Get a cheap embedded web server, see [link=http://www.siteplayer.com/main_content.htm]http://www.siteplayer.com/main_content.htm[/link]
