Default PCM Crystals

Sorry to ask such a fundamental question, but I'm new to PCM.
I just bought my 9cap 2 weeks ago.

I have a second airplane that needs a second receiver.
When I order the additional reciever, it comes without a crystal.

Do I just buy a "normal" crystal such as this one: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=LXBFK713&P=ML
or am I supposed to be looking for something else?

Thanks.

Its all FM, what you need to be concerned about is if the reciever you get is dual conversion, with futaba that means DF or DP that you get a dual conversion Futaba crystal such as the one pictured.

Same goes if you get a single conversion reciever you need a single conversion crystal on the channel your 9c is on.

Thanks.

What part of that crystal's part number are you identifying as "dual conversion"?

The reciever has the D in it that identifies the receiver as dual conversion. The Futaba crystals with the red tags are dual conversion, it should say it in the description, the ones with the black tags are single conversion.

If you bought the second receiver from tower hobbies, look at the webpage or in the catalog for that receiver, and it will show which crystal it uses in the description.
It is also a good idea to get the crystal from the same company that makes the receiver - use Futaba crystals for Futaba receivers, etc.

Thanks for the replies.

I got this reciever: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAEC7&P=M

And this crystal: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=LXBFK713&P=ML

I'm good to go. [8D]

By the way, I'm sold on this PCM business.
I have seen 200 foot range checks with my G-26 gas engine running.
And yes, I did actually take a tape measure to it.
