Default servo chatter with Evo 12

Hey there. I have an Evo 12 and I am having problems with chatter on my JR 8611's. Its only for a second or two and the movement is mm's before it centers but it bothers me. Is this going to make me a divet or will it be fine? I've almost given up on Multiplex. I bought some Hitec digi's and they wouldn't center at all.

What is the problem with MPX Evo 12? Did you program the TX for the appropriate servo signal, i.e., UNI vs. MPX?

The servo chatter is atypical of digital servo and more pronounced on some as compared to others. Generally speaking worry not!

Hitec digitals have proven to center as well as any other comparable product, you simply cannot compare apples to oranges. For instance a direct comparison can be made between an 8411/5945 or an 8611/5955. All things being equal I doubt very much you'll note any difference in centering. Try it on a precision test jig with a quality dial indicator and 1us signal steps.......[8D]

No link, test jigs are home built devices. Mine has a large protractor fixed atop a 10!QUOT! square pad with the servo mounted/cenetered. I drive the servo(s) with a control signal that resolves 1us (us=micro-second) steps.

A long pointer attached to the servo arm allows a visual representation of the ability of the servo to resolve control signal input into servo movement for repeatability and or returning to center and end-point continuously.

All digital servos are not created equal, the sport series pioneered by Hitec and NOW offered by many are comprised inexpensive poled or cored motors, accordingly they do not center as well as our premium coreless motored digital servos.

I have noticed that the position of the retract sw has a bearing on the servo twitching when the rcvr is first turned on.
