Default really old futaba

does anyone know anything like the age of this old futaba 2 channel radio?

It's from the mid 1980's. You can send an e-mail to Futaba - I'm sure they will know the exact date range for this unit.

The manual is available from the Futaba web site in PDF format. The frequency allocation table in the manual confirms that this is definitely a pre 1988 AM band unit. See this link for a brief history of the RC frequency band allocation:

From the article, you can see that this is an 80 kHz spacing, single conversion rx, wide band tx.

I also see from the manual, that the receiver had BEC - which I recall coming out in the mid 80's.

Since this is a wide band unit, its RF emissions will flood over several of the current channels (the adjacent odd and even channels). It really cannot be used safely or legally in the U.S. Flip this baby on and you could shoot down several planes simultaneously - not good. Just put it on a shelf as a nice display.

thats where its been sitting, up on a self,lol, along with about 6 older radios.
