Futaba radio frequences
I bought an older model Futaba radio with an illegal channel in it. Can I just change the crystals? Or do I have to send the radio to Futaba for them to service.

RE: Futaba radio frequences
Well, if it is on an illegal channel, chances are it is also a wide band transmitter. You will need to send it to someone that can change the crystal, if one is available, and retune it. They will also have to certify it is narrow band. It would probably be more affordable to just purchase a new transmitter and receiver. Since you did not mention the model number, it is hard to say what other system would replace it.

RE: Futaba radio frequences
Sorry, George, but older wide-band equipment can no longer be updated to narrow band per the 1991-type accepted FCC regulations. The entire RF section must be swapped out.
