Default JR 9303 or Futaba 9CAPS... need some advice here!!

I cringe to even bring this up, because it always ends up in a pissin contest of sorts, but I really need some input from guys that have some REAL at the field experience with both these radios. I am planning on getting into IMAC competition soon, and am about to upgrade my radio system to one that is more of a competition level system. I've been using a JR XP662 ever since I started flying a year and a half ago, and I feel I've outgrown it. I've handled both the 9303 and the 9CAPS at the shop, and they both feel good in my hands. I've read the specs and cant see that there's THAT much difference in what they will do, do, I turn to you guys that are using them both for some advice. I'm setting up a GP Gene Soucy Extra 300S right now, have a GP Patty Wagstaff Extra in the box in the shop, and will probably end up with something in the 30 to 33% range by the end of the year. I feel either of these would be perfect radios for what I'm wanting, but I just want to hear from those that are actually using either one, because no one at my field has them yet. Thanks in advance for the advice!

I have a 9303 and 2 PCM 10's, I prefer the 9303. I don't fly futawbha so I can't say anything either way.

I've flown both, if you like the feel of both and you already have JR stuff then I'd stick with that, in the end they both do more than most of us will ever need.

I fly Futaba and thats all I have laying around in recievers and crystals etc so there's no way Id change now but like I said, either one is an excellent choice.

The fact that you already have JR equipment should weigh heavy on your decision, unless of course, you are unhappy with your JR airborne equipment, or the Futaba will do a lot more.

12Z is something to think about with the servo grouping eliminating the need for a match box when you get to the multi servo flight surfaces. Cost is alot or alittle more depending on your view but if your planning on flying the bigger stuff, cost is there. I have flown jr radios and have many friends that fly them either brand will do. The 9303 is a super radio. The programming is still JR, which has always been easy. Since you already have JR, I'd get it.

I like the twin engine menu it has, including twin throttle curves and the ability to use separate trims or not.

You also don't mix for using multiple channels for elevator, for example. The 9303 has what they call "Mate" channels. Say you want to use elevator and Aux 2 (ch 7) for elevator. You set aux2 as the "Mate" of elevator and it automatically works. You can mate anything with anything like if you can't get the separate flaps on a scale plane to work together, mate 'em. It's there. You can adjust either side individually, but the switch works them both. It is a very powerful function.

Naturally, it has flight modes, which I am getting used to. They are handy for setting everything up for 3D, all your rates, mixing, spoilerons, throttle curve, etc., for example, with 1 switch.

I had a JR PCM 10 (sold it) and a couple of 8103s and now the 9303 is all I use. It is a great system.

Decision made!! Went back to the LHS and once again handled both the 9303 and the 9CAP Super for about a half hour, played with the programming, etc. Maybe my hands are deformed, but the 9303 just DID NOT seem comfortable to me for some reason. The 9CAP felt much better, and I didnt find the programming to be any more difficult. Anyway, they didnt have the configuration I wanted, so I ordered one from Tower. My new 9CAP Super with synthesized Rx will be here tomorrow!! Thanks for all the info and advice guys!
