Default 6c or 7c or 9c somebody enlighten me

I am into nitro powered airplanes and I am looking for a computer radio. Thing is I not sure if I should go with the 6, 7, or 9 channel computer radion that futaba makes. I probably want have the budget to build scale models and those that run a gasoline burning engines. So, tell me pros and cons of 6, 7, and9 channel radio. The 6 channel will be easiest on my budget.

The 7 cant do split elevators, why mistifies me but it even says so on Fusbas web site.
That leaves the 6 and the 9c imo, the 9c is a very good radio that is way easier to program than the 6, probably be all you ever want.

DOn't know about the 6C, but the 6E is a basic radio.
I would not recommend the 7C, too many features not included.
The 9C is the best radio for the money.

I originally bought the 7C thinking it would serve a beginner for several years and... well... three months later I was selling it on ebay for a huge loss as I bought my 9C because of the lacking features mentioned above.

It is obviously more expensive, but if you have any intentions or desires to get more planes then I'd strongly recommend the 9C.

I bought the Futaba 6EXA when i started out. I'm now on my third plane, an Extra 330, which i set up with dual elevator servo's and dual aileron servo's. The 6EXA will not do split elevators without the use of a reversing y-harness. It also will not do split ailerons without loosing some throw. Throws for ailerons when running dual servos are cut to 60% travel up and 40% travel down to allow for additional movement from the flaps knob, frustrating. Also no expo or dual rate for rudder.

Personally i would bite the bullet and get the 9C, has everything you'll need for a long time to come.

Get a 9C for all of the above reasons. Another and far more important is it a module radio and the channels can be changed. There are some 2.4ghz spectrum modules coming soon which will get rid of the problems associated with 72mgz.

I noticed the lists says there is no dual rate triple rate on the 7C but I can assure you we are setting single, dual, and triple rates using this radio. You just assign them to switch "G". It won't however allow elevator mixing. Really doesn't make much sense. Anyway, I'm very happy with my 7CAP but if I had to do it over I would go for the 9C.
