Default A short story

It's about 8:20 Sunday morning I grab a hot cup of coffee and off me and the dog go for our morning walk.
We head off past the shop and it sure seems like alot of water dripping for just the morning dew so I look closer and through the window I see rain
well not really rain but the water dripping off the ceiling from upstairs from a broken toilet suppy line.
ok well that sucks turn off the water open garage and behold almost every bit of my lord knows how many thousands of dollars worth of airplane stuff is drowned
so here's the question I was able to get the hard goods dried and lubed the planes are twisted all up so there toast
how about my radio gear TX RX SERVOS and Batteries all soaked are they toast I just don't think they can be trusted even if they work too much risk
This the worst R/C day I've ever had and I didn't even leave the house

Bad news, sorry to hear of it... []

As long as the electronics are not powered up, they may be okay if dried out soon. The small battery in the tx's may pose a problem since it's always on to retain the memory.

I think you're probably going to have to send all of it in and have it dried out, inspected and ops checked. If there's any water inside and you power them up, they'll most likely be toast and it's pretty hard to dry that kind of stuff out without disassembly...

Does household insurance cover burst pipes like this? If you are lucky, noting insurance companies are not generous, you may be able to claim and get paid out for replacement gear.

Why have Homeowners Insurance if not for things like this? I really don't know but if it were me and insurance wouldn't pay for my planes, I'd be highly pissed.

Good luck.

It appears after the adjuster came by to look at things that they are going to cover my radio gear and planes
I have full replacement so now I have to price everything for them and see what they say

That is a very sad story. Glad the insurance is covering your loss. Suspect you had some
special planes get drowned that had some swell memories. How many hours of construction
will it take to get the fleet back up?

Keep us up on how well the insurance program goes once you give them the numbers.

Just sent in the list to the adjuster
If my wife sees it I may may be grounded for longer then I thought
You guys had best best get the camera out and inventory your fleet the adjuster told me if it had been a fire it would have been much harder for me to prove what I really owned
a picture is worth a thousand words
