Default Carrying Case Foam

I purchased a Tower Hobby carrying case for my Futaba transmitter. I like the case fine but the foam is sliced into little cubes. The idea is that you eliminate foam cubes to fit the profile of your transmitter. After a little use, the remaining foam cubes around the transmitter begin to separate. So, in the end, you have little foam cubes falling loose around inside the case.

I conducted several web searches (Google) to find a source for solid foam that could be used to replace my foam cubes. Can't seem to come up with a source selling only the foam. The places I found want to sell both the case and the foam or a foam replacement for the case. Anyone have a good source for purchasing solid, two inches thinck foam that can be cut to fit my case?

Try a local craft store. We have Hobby Lobby here that carries foam in almost any thickness you would want.

Default Carrying Case Foam

If you go to an upolstery store you can buy foam in any density or thickness you want. It also comes in several colors.

I think the wal-mart pistol case is about the same dimensions.
3 layers of foam..cut the middle to fit Tx. 7 or 8 dollars.

Default Carrying Case Foam

Mike,
Go to a local Computer supply store. I got a SUPER nice very dense HUGE block (36x24x14) of black foam at work here that a 17" flat panel monitor came in.

Fabric shops may sell slabs of foam for cushions. The long-X-Acto whittling blade is good for cutting this stuff.
