Default Ham question, antenna length?

Re: Futaba 6XAS FM, channel 00, 50.800 Mhz

The receiver that came with the radio has an antenna length of approx. 3'-2". When using the formula (468) to determine 1/4 wave length for my freq., I find it should be 4'-7" in length. Has anyone out there changed to a longer length antenna for these 50 Mhz receivers? Is Futaba just using one length antenna for all their receivers?

Rogerswin, the antenna length is not critical in this case as the receiver coils are tuned (base loaded) to accomodate the shorter antenna.

Thanks Rodney,

That's one more item off of my "Should I be concerned" list

Default Transmitter length is the same as well

I fly JR transmitters both on the 50mHz band and the 72 mHz band. The transmitter antenna lengths are identical on both bands. I have always assumed that there was loading in the transmitter to allow this. Makes it nice when you break one to have another one that is interchangeable.
