Default long leads

I'm installing an Airtronics RD6000 Super system in a 1/4 scale Fokker Dr-1 triplane. The aileron servo leads (2) will be about 24" long each. (Ther servos are in the upper wing.) I will be running a Zenoah G-23 gasoline engine. Do I have to do anything to protect the radio from rf "noise" from the engine? If so, what do I need to do?

Thanks, Dave

You shouldn't have any problems at all with 24". Many giant scale airplanes run 36" or longer without any issues. Just use 22ga extensions, solder then rather than just use connectors to connect the extension. Make the extension no longer than needed, and twist the leads. Do a range check, and if everything checks out, don't give them a second thought.

I've often wondered, what's the reason for quoting the entire post before answering it_bob

I don't always. Usually I try to quote the reply when other replies were added after to avoid the confusion of whose post the reply was intended for. Sometimes I just forget, and hit the quote button instead. I'll try to be more judicious if it bothers you.

Let me know when you get tired, and I'll take over again

And just to keep this on-topic, "I like long leads".

The lenghts you mention are not very long and shouldn't cause any problems, but if they do, you can look at leads that you can go up tp 100 ft, is this long enough, yes Fiber optic servo extensions.
