Default BB servo convertions

Does anyone know anything about EMS ball bearing servo convertion kits for Futaba servos? It seems to be just the cast top half with a BB for the output shaft. Are they worth $6.00 a pop?

Thanks guys

Default BB servo convertions

I converted all of my 148's to these and they do work a lot better, price is a bit high but worth it in my opinion.

I also use the conversions for my 148s and now run the servos in my hawk 3 heli. The servos will last longer and run smoother with the bb well worth the money.

Ditto on the 148 conversions

I have many old 148s that have new life thanks to the BB conversion. After a lot of use you will notice you can wiggle the output shaft fore/aft or left/right due to wear. The BB conversions took all the slop out and take about 1 minute of bench time to install.

Tower sells the EMS conversion for $20 per set of 4.

Still cheaper than ordering a servo of 148 quality with BB.

I haven't upgraded any 148's but I have done several JR 507's where all you do is remove the bushing and install the EMS BB. The output shaft is noticeably stabilized and the servo seems to run smoother. Well worth the effort IMHO.

Default JR servos

JWN: I just cleaned the pot for a JR507....works like new. I had a 505 and was going to see if I could do the same. It did not look like the pot comes apart ? The motor was a stinker to get out too. How do you like the 507 servos? Any certain JR your favorite? Thanks John

I really don't have a favorite on any servo. Everything I've ever used from JR has worked flawlessly. Same goes for Futaba. I just be sure to match the servo to the demands of the application.
