I also have this problem and hope someone can answer this question. I have 2 of the same receivers that I picked up at a swap meet. No channel number on the side and both are identical on any information printed on the sides.

Looking forward to receiving the answer.

.Look at the stickers on the receivers.
They should have an FCC sticker that will read something like this
FCC ID AZPFP-R127 DF50 FCC ID AZPFP-R127 DF72.
tHE LAST 2 NUMBERS GIVE THE BAND.50 IS THE 6 METER BAND AND 72 IS THE LOW PART FOR AIRCRAST R/C
Hope this helps
Never put a PIC here so it may not work.
Still learning

While you will need two crystals you should be able to make this work. Get two crystals CH 23 and CH48 and do a range test. If the 23 has a better test then it should be a low channel. If the 48 has the better range then it should be a high channel. I have tried this with channel 23 and 38 (my TX Modules) and found this to work.

The difference is small and you have to do it several times.

The basic premise here is that the rf amplifier of the modules are giving out the same output power. I had an issue once when using a similar method because one of the modules have been slightly "weakened" by prolonged usage of the Tx without extending the first segment during plane setup. The range check difference did not make any sense due to this. So may be the case if the modules have significantly different usage hours ? Just my 2C

On the side of both receivers:
FCC ID:AZP4VKFP-RI27DF72
FUTABA
MADE IN TAIWAN

and the Narrow Band 20KHZ 1991 sticker.

I do not have any Futaba equipment on the low band side. Would someone that does with a 7 channel receiver please see if your's is labeled the same way.

.Well,Your on the 72 meg aircraft band but you need to know where the receiver is tuned at.
Also your on the wrong forum for radio info.
Below is the link and you can get direct factory info support but i'm willing to bet they ask you to send them in..
Theres a big spread between the 60 channels.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forumdispl...=&forumid=148/
You might also try poking around the futuba site as the receivers are old
Look at http:// www.futaba.com
