Default Changing crystals in Futaba radios

I suppose this question has been raised before but...it's worth asking again. Say I have receivers with #52 and #54 crystals. If I replace these with #32 crystals, will they operate with a #32 transmitter as well as they did with their original TX? Likewise, if I replace the crystal in a #52 or #54 TX with a #32 crystal, will it work as well with RXs which originally came thru with #32 crystals? Thanks!

Theoretically you can change crystals in receiver within channels 10 to 35 and within channels 36 to 60 without significant degradation in performance. Since you want to change outside these limits you would likely have to much degradation to be safe without having the receivers returned.
As far as the transmitters are concerned you cannot legally change the crystals according to Federal Communication Commission regulations regarding transmitter for remote control devices. This can only be done by a licensed technician that has the proper equipment to ensure that the transmitter meets FCC specifications, is tuned properly so as not to cause interference to other equipment and is certified to meet those specifications.
It would also void your AMA insurance in case of any mishap if you do it yourself.
