RE: Futaba 5114
That's the modified short version, the original is ~double. I believe is should be ~55cm. Check with Bax or Krysty on this for sure.
They are shipping with the short version. The longer one, some people that had noisy setups, the RX would lockout or slow response at times. The short version is more than adequate. I extended the antenna out two sections and went flying in a electric glider, was up over 2000ft up and out and no issues. Now this is a solid RX in my setups.
Tested this in a gentle lady with PJS1500 CC85HV 25v 6c lipo drawing 85-90 amps max. flew for a few minutes doing figures 8's, loops and barrel rolls then extended antenna fully.
The RX is sensitive and works great in a clean setup, over 40+hours on the 5014, 25+ hrs on multiple R319dps and no glitches so far.
flown in several planes 3-6ft electrics, 120 Buckner Jungmen, 36% AW Katana.
I am waiting for the 2.4GHz modules from Futaba for flying in a couple closed industrial areas, building is halted, open land currently, verses the flying field.
Just my experiences,
Tony

Do I understand you correctly? You are flying with the short antenna.
I'm just waiting for the module too. I'm trying to get all my aircraft set up on the 12FG so I'll be ready to go when the modules come out.
Thanks for the info.

Yes, I am flying with the short version. It's in the AW 36% Katana right now.
Gets moved around a bit, the shorter antenna is easy to route from one plane to the next, verses the longer antenna.
Put a plastic tube in the airframe to run the antenna in.

Well, if it will handle a 36% gasser, I have confidence it will handle my 80 in. Super Decathalon. Yes, I noticed the convenience of the shorter antenna. The antenna on the receiver I had been using hung out the tail of the plane about 6 inches.
Thanks for your help.
