Default Airtronics RD6000 vs JR XP662 vs Hitec Eclipse 7

I have an old Futaba Conquest radio that I need to upgrade from. Airtronics, JR, an Hitec all have radios at about the same price point I'm interested in. Does any one of them stand out above the others? With the Hitec I can reuse my Futaba receivers at least. Any suggestions? Thanks
Bill

Default Eclipse!

I am sure there are many out there that fly the others and enjoy them, there are few "poor" radios out there. I have the Eclipse and really enjoy it. As you said, any FM RX you have, can be used with the Eclipse. The only thing that stands out even more than Hitec products, is their customer service! In my opinion, it cannot be beat!

LOve my RD6000... and you can select which shift you transmit, so it can talk to "other brand" receivers as well, has a built in timer/countdown, easy to program, throttle cut(kill the engine without using throttle trim)...

RD6000 has more features then the other for the price. The service is also outstanding. For me it Airtronics all the way.

Be aware that the origional RD6000 has been discontinued and there is now an RD6000 sport and a 6000 super. The Eclise and the "Super" are a close comparison but the Eclipse does have one more channel and more features for a few dollars less.

Check out a comparison here: http://www.hitecrcd.com\MikesSpace\Eclipseweb.htm

Default RD6000 super one of best

For the price, programming ease, and features; Airtronics RD6000 super, in my opinion, beats all others. I received the RD6000 for Christmas and absolutly love it. My planes were programmed into it's 8 program mode the next day. If you have any questions on it, send me an e-mail.

Thanks,

RD6000 Super again........
I'll let you know how the RD8000 stands up in a little while
I have had the RD and Hitec Radio's in hand at the same time.... Rd for sure........programming and feel of the Hitec is just difficult....JR programming is just sad......

Default Ummm...........

I could not disagree more!
The Hitech out performs the RD6000 hands down.
Now........I am Canadian, this should tell you that I can do nothing but tell the truth.
They are both great radio's, one has one more channel than the other.
That is the American made one!
In my opinion also has better feel and ease of programing.(important at this level)
Everyone should start thinking more about this.(buying American/Canadian)
Put your money where your home is.

I have the RD6000 Super, but the older version, the RD6000 is just the same except it only has 4 model memory. Either way, this radio is straightfoward in programming. I absolutely love mine!! I'd highly recommend this one or the RD8000, although the RD6000 will do the trick. Definitely go for this one.
