Default crystal identification

I would like to ask the same question that was posted by jbutkovic in Jun 2002

Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between a HiTec Crystal and a Futaba? Thanks.

I would also like to add, Are there any identifying numbers to determine what brand the crystal will work with ? for example what does the number TYPE 72-11 or TYPE 72-3 stand for on a crystal? these are just a couple of crystals that I found lying around and do not remember what they are for or if I acquired them in a trade. Thank You, Orange01
