I just got off the phone with my sales rep and placed my stock order for the store. JR will be out in april And Futaba later in the spring. The back log is going to be big so make the phone call now if you want one. The receivers I'm told will be the hard ones to get. Dennis

whew,
i see that now also.
but i hope that the module will support the full 10 channels, to work with a possible (?) "AR10000" 10 ch. spektrum rx (future?)
i do have 1 plane that uses all 10.[]

I only see a AR9000 rx now..so you might have to do some creative y-cord'in to get back to 9.

Thanks Mark for the heads up on this post. I was (like many) almost to dump my 8103 and 9303 in favor of the DX7...you are my salvation..hehe

Any chance of buying just the module? Or will they only come with the receivers for now?

The module is combo'ed with a receiver currently, and probably will be for a while would be my guess. One needs the other to work, where as the receivers will be available separately.

Any News on the DX9 (or anything like that)? Im about to upgrade my JR 6102 and it seems kinda price to buy the base 9303 and the module system. They modules look great though and will make for a lot of happy pilots.

...and can we assume that these modules are like the DX7 system, in that they will operate the older DX6 series equipment?

Is the user able to link the model setup in the radio (9303 for example) to the receiver like you can with the DX7? With the DX7, the model settings are linked to the receiver so you do not accidently "fly the wrong plane". Are there any limitations or features that can't be integrated into the "module solution" that exists in the "native" DX7 solution?

Why are the limiting the Futaba to 8 channels?
Isn't the ppm output from a Futaba still 9 channels?
Is it just so that the JR looks better?

SPMMSFUT9 DSM2 Air Module System FUTABA - HITEC w/AR9000 RX $299.99

SPMAR9000 AR9000 DSM2 9ch. RX $169.99
I have the first version of the Futaba 9CAP Tx. Do I order the above quoted items (first is for Tx & Rcv combo, second is for spare rcv'rs)
Do I have that correct?

Why do they state 9ch, yet only use 8ch (9 for Jr, 8 for Futaba)?

About 1/2 way down, in the section on "How Spektrum Air Modules Work"

Does that mean my Futaba 9CAP then becomes an 8 ch radio???

They don't work with the 6000, but they work with the newer 6100.

Yes. My understanding is that the 9C's 9th channel is only operational when in PCM mode. The module requires the radio be in PPM mode which only allows for 8 channels on the transmitter.

I have a 9C and I have never used more than 6 channels - it won't effect me that much but I can see it being a problem for others.

I assume that the module comes with an appropriate antenna. There seem to be two choices - ball mount which plugs in after you unscrew the normal antenna, and a mount that goes over the existing antenna when collapsed. Is this correct ?

Thank You

Running in PPM mode does remove some features from these radios that are available in PCM mode. Failsafe is one of them.

I think I will stick with 72mhz and enjoy the more open channels with a lot of people switching to 2.4ghz. All in all, good news for everyone that these modules are going to be available.

If and when I do make the switch, it will be to a professional grade 9+ channel 2.4ghz factory radio with functionality similar to a 9Z or better.
