Default Rudder servos for 35% edge

I'm building a Carden 35% Edge. Will be using (3) JR 8411 or (2) Futaba S5301 servos. These are two suggestions that I am considering. I will be mounting servos with SWB NFG., INC. servo tray and offset bellcrank. I would like some comments on this because I want to do it RIGHT the first time. Thanks-Jerry

You might also want to consider two Hitec digital 5735's http://www.hitecrcd.com/Servos/hs5735.htm They are becoming a popular choice. They are about the same size and torque as the 5301 but almost twice as fast!

Price is about $25 less than the Futaba's.

Mike.

Depends on what is required for balance IMO.

If the servos need to be in the tail, two standard digitals are more than adequate.

If the model needs weight forward to CG it, then your looking at the belly for installation... In this case ONE jumbo is more than adequate, its simpler, less money and more robust... Scott's or SWB's stuff is excellent...

Your suggestions for servo power would be typical of a 40% model... I have owned numerous 33% model, used and abused them for 3D. Nothing more than I've suggested is needed...

For a 35% plane one hitec 5735,futaba 5050 or 2 jr 8411's or hitec 5945's on pull pull is adequate. If mounting in the tail the 8411's or 5945's are good. My bias is towards the hitec digitals because they can be programmed. Setting up a pull pull system is so much easier using the programmer. You could also use a jr matchbox if you wanted. I think two giant servo's or 3 standard on pull-pull is overkill for a model this size but if that is your choice..so be it.
