Default BEC w/jeti 110 and airtronics mini reciever

I have a jeti 110 motor controller and an Airtronics 91515z mini reciever. I understand how the reciever gets power w/o BEC, but jeti recommends using BEC. So how does the reciever get power if I do not use the Nicd pack? Also, there was no diagram telling me what all 5 slots in the reciever are. The first 2 had the mini servos plugged in from the factory. The fifth one says 5/B. Isnt that where the power from the nicad pack plugs in? If I plug the motor controller in the 3rd slot will that power the reciever?

It is possible to apply the power to any of the receiver slots, the power connections are all linked together. So the ESC is plugged into the normal throttle channel.
