Default JR question sooo confused?????

I plan on buying a 8103 possibly at the WRAM show next weekend and came across a ad for the x-3810 http://www.intairco.net/jr/x3810.htm looks just like a XP8103 http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/prod...Prod=JRP8612** So what's the difference. which one is better? Hope someone knows the difference.

We all know that the 9c has a few features that the 10X does not have, but c'mon----TEN TIMES AS MUCH??? I'll be willing to bet my life that overall the 10X will do MANY, MANY, MANY more things than the 9c. (or should I say 8 1/2c.) The 9c was made to compete with the JR 8103. The new radio that JR is coming out with to compete with the 9c will blow the 9c away. Even though JR's new radio will be better than the 9c it will still fall short of the 10X. I can understand all of the chest beating coming from the Futaba camp given that they had to put up with radios like the 8u. Books had to be printed by the aftermarket to program the %$#*&@ thing. I'm glad for you that Futaba came out with a more user friendly radio----that has programing similar to but still lags behind the JR.

I dearly love my 9C, but on behalf of many 9C owners out there I'll bow to the 10X. It's a great radio. Not sure if the 9X is going to blow away the 9C though. I just don't see much that you can improve on it.

I fly both Futaba and JR.
I like them both for different things.

Lets not make this into a pissing match between Futaba and JR.

They are both outstanding systems. Especially the top end of both their lines.

Wgeffon,

You are right...I too really like my JR radios just as much as the Futaba users like theirs. I used to fly nothing but Futaba until I picked up a JR PCM 10 many years ago. The ease of programing sold me. I hear that the top of the line Futaba 9 channel is a very nice radio---I would like to have the Futaba's synthesized feature on a JR 10X!!!!

Well mosty because I would have to replace $600 worth of recievers I already own, I have friends that have the 8103 and the 9C and both are great radios and both have something the other lacks in one way or the other but both are great, Did I hear JR is coming out with a new one to compete with the 9C??? Will most likely replace the 8103..... Maybe I'll wait and get the new one. wonder when it will be out. And thanx jetranger for the answer.

Europe? Look at the flags at the bottom of the page, that's an Aussie raidio, mate.....

On that page they mention both a X3810 and a XP8103, if they don't know what they're talking about, I won't trust 'em.....

I'm not trying to re-ignite the arguements that we previously had but just pointing out what the 9X will have over the 9c. This is only a portion of the features---I was not told of any other major features. One of the biggest complaints with the 9c is that only 8 channels are available in PPM mode and in PCM mode the 9th channel is just a non-proportional on/off toggle switch. The JR 9X will have all nine channels proportional AND mixable in both PPM and PCM mode. The 9th channel on the 9c cannot be mixed with any other channels.

Although this is nothing new, the upgraded JR Data Safe II is a step above the Futaba Compac system. The Data Safe II allows you to not only store all of your models on disc but allows you to send your buddy that has the same plane your info and setups over the computer. He can then download your info and setups and send them to his TX via the RS 232 interface. Kinda neat, huh!!! This is available now in the 8103 and 10X and will be carried over to the new 9X.

Default Can't wait !

Can't wait for this new radio!!

I've specifically held off on the 8103, as it seems to me to be one of the older radios....I won't hold my breath on it though, probably be available later this year, maybe October.

The I don't see a big deal with one non prop channel on the Futaba, my XF631 6 channel has both aux channels as switches... I see that as a severe oversight / cost cut on the part of JR and that would be one of my main reasons to upgrade. I can see that you'd want some mixing on the landing gear though, how else are you going to turn the landing lights on?

Does the JR allow you to use a switch instead of a dial on one (or more) of the channels? I can see me wanting to dial down the wheels...
